AUSTRIA 2023

During this course, twenty-eight students from TU Wien (Institute of Spatial Planning, Centre of Regional Development), University of Belgrade (Faculty of Geography), and Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (Institute of Management, Department of Spatial Planning) collaborated on 9 pilot areas in the city of St. Pölten, the capital of Lower Austria. Besides attending a series of lectures in Vienna and St. Pölten, the students worked in international teams and developed proposals for implementing the Positive Energy District concept for these pilot areas. The aim was to facilitate transformation in the dimensions of heat, electricity, and mobility in real-life situations. The workshop was conducted in a hybrid manner, with students meeting one time online before the physical workshop in Austria. Subsequently, the teams completed and submitted their assignments.
