The development of the idea began in 2019 in order to create a trinational student workshop among three institutions with long history of scientific and education cooperation – TU Wien, Belgrade University and Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (STUBA). The pandemic crisis that began in 2020 halted the efforts, but introduction of the new branch of Erasmus+ projects – Blended Intensive Programmes – allowed us to make this happen. Until now, it is the first project of this kind implemented by STUBA as the hosting institution.
The theme of Positive Energy Districts was selected based on the emergence of the topic recognized by the European Commission, the fact that STUBA is implementing a research project with this thematic focus and based on the nature of the topic as multilateral and broad enough to effectively deal with numerous issues in Central European cities.
